In the Beginning
In the beginning, God created colored people.
And the tree of knowledge was full of stereotypes and prejudices,
Which we tasted of liberally.
But who was the snake and what did it say to us?
What was the result of our indulgence,
that we now walk different paths and at different times in the cool of the day with God?
And where in Genesis would this account be found?
What chapter and verse?
On what day and in what garden?
What curse would we receive?
Expelled, where did these colored people go?
This is not the way that God creates.
And I am God’s creature not a human invention.
God did not create black and white and brown and beige and red and yellow people.
God said that we were all good and color is not one of God’s attributes.
God did not create forbidden people
Forgotten people
Untouchable people
Other people
This is not God’s image.
I am God’s word not a human slur.
God did not call me nigger, cracker, chink, spook, apple, wetback, Jap or towelhead.
This is not the way that God talks about me.
This is not the way that God talks about us.
And this is no knowledge at all.
These are not the words that God used to create us in the beginning.
