Our Only Difference

“So you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.” ~Malachi 3.18

We differ in span and reach but this does not measure our humanity.

We have hair and eyes and skin just the same but their colors do not identify our humanity. We are human with or without them.

We have lived lives long and short but our life’s span does not determine our humanity.

We live and are found in different places in the earth but where we are does not locate or segregate our humanity. We are human no matter where we are.

We know and are known but this awareness does not inform our humanity.

We have and have not but what we possess does not give or take away our humanity.

Humanity is not something to be measured. It does not come in colors or with age. Our humanity is found not in places or in people.  It is not something to be possessed or taken away. We can only be human beings.

Our differences are not found in what is seen but in who we serve.
