Greater

“For the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”

~ First John 4.4, NRSV

Greater.  Greater is God who is in me than race that is in the world.  Greater is God who is in me than racism that is in the world.  Greater is God who is in me than stereotypes that are in the world.  Greater is God who is in me than prejudices that are in the world.  God is greater in us than race, racism, stereotypes and prejudices.

God’s presence in us is greater than any external force or carnal invention outside of us.  We must turn our gaze inward and look inside for the measure and make up of greatness.  There is something more to us and there is Someone who should mean more to us than the social coloring of our skin.  There is a word that is greater than black/ white/ red/ yellow/ brown/ beige.  The word is God and God’s Word is greater.  Greater.
