Remembering Mr. Nelson Mandela

nelsonmandelaYesterday, we learned of political prisoner, former South African President and international symbol of forgiveness and reconciliation Nelson Mandela’s passing at age 95.  He was affectionately called “Madiba” and his story reminds me of the Old Testament’s Joseph (Genesis 37).  Sentenced to life imprisonment, he was released after twenty- seven years in 1990 at the age of 71 and went on to become the president of the former apartheid government from 1994 to 1999.

Thank you Mr. Mandela for your life and its witness.
