An extra day offers an additional opportunity to review various media outlets on the #oscarssowhite protests, Chris Rock’s opening monologue for the 88th annual Academy Awards, seemingly all things Donald Trump who has apparently never heard of white supremacy and yet another instance of suspected police misconduct, this time in Salt Lake City.  Daily reports make it normative and daily viewing will make it seem normal.  But, it’s not.  I could a use an extra day where none of these things are reported.

I know that it takes a leap of faith to believe in just about anything these days.  Cynicism has so pervaded our culture that it is fashionable, popular and we are even expected to doubt.  Still, I have hope because there are more days ahead.

And while I cannot leap ahead, I do see ahead.  My faith leaps.  My vision of the future remains race-less.
