Praying in the Dark

dark-hands_00301142If you are feeling your way through life, seemingly trapped in a tunnel with no end and consequently, no light in sight…  If you, like Joseph, find yourself in a pit, pushed down by those who were supposed to love you and help you make your dreams come true…  If you, like Jesus, were in the midst of disciples whom you called friends but knew there was a betrayer present too…  If you have ever served people who in one breath said, “Hosanna” and in the next said, “Crucify him,” then this meditation on prayer is for you.

Once a month, I write for the great people at Smyth & Helwys, a publishing company in Macon, Georgia.  My focus is prayer and the praying life with the intention of contributing to the dialogue and discipline of prayer.  I hope that the words of “Praying in the Dark” remind you that you are not alone and that light is on the way.  Be encouraged.
