Today, remember the Unexpected God, Who shows up in places and among people unaccounted for, Who comes in ways not socially acceptable, unplanned and impractical, Who came to an unwed teenage girl and Who comes to us each day in the faces of our neighbors, strangers and immigrants.

As a mother, I am especially grateful for the invitation to see God in the face of a baby, to go down to God’s level, to be eye- to- eye with Spirit and to look down to find the Divine.
